Poems, Parkinson`s & Being The ‘Best I Can Be’
Hywel Griffiths has written a new book of inspirational poems.
My poetry writing by Hywel Griffiths
I make no secret of the fact that I first started to write my poems in response to people coming into the office everyday complaining about trivialities. Rather than shouting “Get a Life” – I thought that my poetry might encourage them to see life from a different perspective.
I hope that these poems illustrate what can be achieved simply through a positive outlook on life, and my favourite phrase- “Be the Best One Can Be.” I hope what these poems convey is my zest and love for life. It’s not always easy, and I feel thankful and privileged to be able to do a job that I love so much.

POSITIVELY ME (A poem by Hywel Griffiths)
Many of my poems are written about me,
Conspiring with myself to be ‘The Best I Can Be’
But conspire with your-self? – You might well ask How?
Well I just look in a mirror and I’m talking to Hyw!
There are many tales of how I cope day to day.
But in reality there really is no other way;
If I gave up my struggle and gave up my hope;
You might as well hand me a length of old rope.
Though my desire and love for life is so strong,
That I’ll never give up, whatever may go wrong;
To wake up each morning is simply divine,
A certain perspective that could only be mine
And just so you’re aware all Ladies and Gents
This collection refers to all sorts of events,
A short and comical view of my life
It’s not short enough!
Says my long suffering wife!
