Valerie Norris has lived in Wales since she moved there with her first husband when she was eighteen. Most of her career has been spent as a Materials Engineer, for the final twenty-five years at Swansea University, where her name was Valerie Randle.
She was honoured with the title of Welsh Woman of the Year in 1998, which led to many activities in public life. In 2004, she was invited to Buckingham Palace as one of the 'top 180 female achievers in the country'. As well as the two novels she has written published in 2018/19 by Cambria, she has also written five textbooks.
Valerie spends her time singing in various acapella groups, volunteering with Cruse Bereavement Care, long-distance walking, yoga, travelling, learning Spanish and writing. She is married to the poet Christopher Norris. Website
